How We Test

I want you to know exactly what you are reading. Not every article here is a hands-on test, so each article is one of three types.

The three types of articles

  • Hands-on tests: I used the product myself and measured the results. These articles show my own photos and numbers.
  • Buying guides: These explain what to look for, based on research and official specs. They are not hands-on tests, and they say so.
  • News and explainers: These explain new products and what they mean for buyers. They link to official sources.

How I test

  • Routers and networking: I test ping and speed on a wired connection and on Wi-Fi. I repeat each test several times and share the average.
  • Games and performance: I test at 1440p and show the game settings I used. I share average FPS and the results in my own screenshots.
  • Peripherals and desk gear: I use the product in my daily setup for some time before I write about it.

What I do not do

  • I do not say “tested” if I did not test it.
  • I do not copy manufacturer specs and call them results.
  • I do not take payment to change a review.

If I did not test a product

The article says so, and I explain where the information comes from.
